Staying safe
Faith-centred dating means treating others with sincerity, dignity, and care. These tips help you protect yourself and build healthy connections.
Before you meet
- Take your time — genuine people will not pressure you to move faster than you are comfortable with.
- Keep early conversations on the app; avoid sharing your home address, workplace, or financial details.
- Do a video call or voice chat before meeting in person if you can.
- Meet in a public place for the first few times; avoid isolated locations.
- Tell a friend or family member who you are meeting, where, and when you expect to be back.
Money and scams
- Never send money, gift cards, or crypto to someone you have not met in person.
- Be wary of urgent stories (medical bills, travel emergencies) used to request funds.
Boundaries and respect
- Clear communication is part of Christian love — say no when you need to, without guilt.
- If someone crosses a line, disengage. You can block them anytime.
- Harassment, hate, or coercion has no place here — report it so moderators can act.
If something feels wrong
- Use Report on the person’s profile or chat context — describe what happened.
- In an emergency, contact local authorities (Nigeria: emergency services / police).
- Your safety matters more than politeness — it is OK to leave a situation that does not feel safe.
